The Euro (€) – The Currency of Amsterdam
The Euro is the official currency of the Netherlands, and this includes Amsterdam. The symbol for the Euro is €, and its ISO 4217 code is EUR. You’ll find banknotes and coins, each with unique designs, used for everyday transactions. Tipping in Amsterdam
Tipping in Amsterdam is appreciated but not mandatory. Service charges are often included in restaurant bills, but it’s common to round up the total or leave a small tip for good service. In cafes and bars, rounding up or leaving a small tip is also appreciated. However, tipping taxi drivers or tour guides is at your discretion.
