Amsterdam Pass
Amsterdam Digital Pass for 3 top attractions
The Amsterdam Pass is a simple idea, offer a pass that focuses only on three of the most popular attractions in Amsterdam. When compared to other passes like the I Amsterdam City Card and the Go City Amsterdam Pass it would appear more limited in reach.
But we think it fits perfectly into the tourist pass category by offering a pass that takes you to a choice of two major attractions and a canal cruise. When added together the available choices add up to three of the most popular things to do in Amsterdam.
So, if you are on a short visit to Amsterdam this pass could be a perfect choice.

Amsterdam Digital Pass features
Amsterdam Pass is a digital pass, you’ll also see it advertised as the Amsterdam Digital Pass, so you’ll need a smart phone to use it.
What’s included in the Amsterdam Digital Pass
When launched it featured Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. Now the pass has evolved and you get to choose from different big attractions to create the bundle you want most.
To be honest, it does seem like the attractions available do change, so nothing is set in stone. For instance, currently Rijksmuseum is not featured. So, do check the attraction you want is featured when looking at the available options.
Most visitors are drawn to the card because it includes Van Gogh Museum.
The Amsterdam Digital Pass gives you a choice of entry to:
Attraction 1 – Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum or Moco Museum.
Attraction 2 – Rembrandt House Museum or Heineken Experience.
Attraction 3 – 1hr Canal Cruise.
There is also an Amsterdam city guide app included to help you get around Amsterdam, which you can download to your phone. This app has audio descriptions of places of interest around Amsterdam, along with maps and navigation.
Finally, you’ll receive a discount code that offers you 10% off other orders.
Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum are next to each other in Museumplein which is also home to Moco Museum, so you do not need to travel very far at all between attractions. Heineken Experience and Rembrandt House Museum are a little further away so there will be a little bit of moving around for each attraction you chose.
You can use the Digital Pass to book your tickets at the time of your choosing but where we think this pass excels is if you are on a day trip or overnight trip to Amsterdam. You can visit two of the biggest attractions in Amsterdam and enjoy an evening canal cruise round the city. For short stays it does offer a great solution.
Obviously, Amsterdam has a lot more to offer than just the above attractions, but with Van Gogh Museum removing itself from some of the other tourist passes, The Digital Amsterdam Pass is definitely worth considering.
Amsterdam Pass is a focussed tourist pass, aimed at day trippers and includes three of the most popular things to do in Amsterdam.
BUY AMSTERDAM PASS
The Amsterdam Pass currently costs €68.50, though there are often sales on when purchasing, so you may find it is cheaper at the time of purchase, usually 10% cheaper.
We have looked to see whether you will save money on buying your tickets individually. Currently Van Gogh Museum tickets cost €24. Heineken Experience tickets cost €21. Lovers Canal Cruise costs €14.50. This totals €62.50.
So, from above you can see that you may not save money with this pass, but you will save the hassle of buying three separate tickets and you can also find that availability of tickets through the digital pass can be very good.
Depending on the offers on at the time of purchase you may save yourself a little bit of money, but this pass is designed to make things easier for your visit, not necessarily save you money like the other bigger more complex tourist passess in Amsterdam.
Reasons to visit Van Gogh Museum and take a canal cruise
Van Gogh Museum
Van Gogh is synonymous with Amsterdam and this museum hosts some of his most iconic and famous works of art.
It is a museum to immerse yourself in Van Gogh as an artist and learn about his life and inspiration.
There are over 200 paintings on display plus 400 letters and drawings. There are also artworks by other artists who had an influence on Van Gogh’s work and life.
One of the five Sunflower originals is housed in this museum.
This is not to say that Stedelijk Museum or Moco Museum may be more suitable for you, especially if you have already seen Van Gogh Museum.
Rembrandt House Museum and Heineken Experience
Combining Van Gogh Museum with Rembrandt House Museum would offer you access and insights into two of the Netherlands most influential painters and would be a fabulous choice for any art enthusiast.
Heineken Experience is a totally different and equally popular attraction, you’ll learn all about the brewery in an interactive and fun way and enjoy free drinks too.
Canal Cruise
The main canal ring in Amsterdam is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage sight and wraps itself around the historic centre of the city. Taking a canal cruise through Amsterdam is relaxing, inspiring and memorable. It is often voted as the best thing to do in Amsterdam. There are 165 canals in Amsterdam, so viewing the city from the water, day or night is an essential part of any visit.
