ARTIS Royal Zoo Amsterdam

Artis Amsterdam Royal Zoo

One of the oldest zoos in Europe with a wealth of diversity with Elephants, Lemurs, Sea Lions, an Aquarium, Gorillas, Planetarium, Insectarium, Butterfly Pavilion and beautiful grounds to explore. A very popular family trip and one of Amsterdam’s biggest attractions.

Location: Plantage Kerklaan 38-40. In Plantage neighbourhood, easy to reach on foot from Central Amsterdam or use Tram 14 which stops at Artis.

Amsterdam Dungeon

Amsterdam Dungeon takes you back to the darkest parts of Netherlands history, an attraction designed to scare and amuse with live shows. You can buy combination tickets if your interested in Madam Tussauds and save money.

Location: Rokin 78. Near Dam Square. Take tram 4,14 or 24 from Centraal Station and get off at spui/Rokin or take the 15-minute walk.

Keukenhof Castle & Gardens

A springtime visit to Amsterdam makes visiting Keukenhof Gardens an absolute must. Keukenhof is the largest and most famous flower park in the world and near to Amsterdam. 7 million bulbs are planted each year. The Keukenhof Castle is still well worth visiting outside the springtime as it is a beautiful and historical attraction in its own right.

Opening times: Keukenhof Gardens – from end of March to mid-May.

Keukenhof Castle is open from April through September daily from 8.30-7.30pm. From October through March 8.30-4.30pm.

Madame Tussauds

Eveyone knows what to expect at Madame Tussauds. In the Amsterdam version there is a Grand Prix VR experience, recent additions include Dua Lipa, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the Marvel Avengers. You can buy combination tickets with the nearby London Dungeons to save money if you are visiting both attractions.

Location: Dam 20. Situated right on Dam square about a 10-minute walk from Centraal Station.

Madurodam

Madurodam is in essence a theme park outside Amsterdam, popular with families and kids with lots of fun activities and individual attractions. They have a minature Amsterdam City and other places of interest in the Netherlands, plus a 3D football game, hands-on activities and much more.
