Muziekgebouw Amsterdam sits on the River IJ, close to Centraal Station. It is a striking building with glass panelling that offers views to the river, with buildings like the Bimhuis attached for more intimate concerts and jazz.

Muziekgebouw Agenda
The Muziekgebouw offers a multitude of musical events, concerts and some music festivals. On certain days you can also take a guided tour with a look behind the scenes too.
A cheaper way to visit would be to go to one of the lunch concerts, where young musicians will play at a high-level and entry is as little as €6.

Muziekgebouw opening times
There are various opening times depending on the concert you attend. Some concerts start at 8.15pm and will go on until 12am.
Other concerts start at lunchtime or in the afternoon. Your ticket will guide you.
For tickets the box office is open Mon-Sat from 3pm until the start of the evening concert. It also opens 1.5hrs before the evening concert on other days.
The Grand Cafe 4’33 is open from 11.30am until 12am so this is the best guide for entry into the building.

Tickets for Musiekgebouw
This is a popular venue, so it is always advisable to check what is on and book your tickets in advance. They have a wide range of concerts and music genres, so even on a short visit to Amsterdam, it is possible to find just what you want.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online and there is also a box office at the venue, where you can buy your tickets in person. This box office opens from Monday to Saturday from 3pm until the start of the concert. On other days it opens 1.5hrs before the concert.
4’33 Grand Cafe
This is located on the ground floor with lovely views over the River IJ. It is a great place for a coffee with friends, lunch or even pasteries at high tea.
How to get to Muziekgebouw Amsterdam
You can find the Muziekgebouw along the River IJ on the Amsterdam Central Station side of the river. It shares its space with the ever popular Bimhuis.

It is a 15-minute walk from Central Station to the Musiekgebouw/Bimhuis. There is also a Tram from Central Station that stops outside called Muziekgebouw/BIMHUIS. There will be a tram every ten minutes or so and it will only take a few minutes.

The closet hotels to Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis are the popular Movenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre and the Doubletree by Hilton Amsterdam Central Station. If you are staying at either of these then a visit to the jazz home of Bimhuis or the concert home of Muziekgebouw could be a great way to spend a few hours.
