This is Holland
5D interactive experience in Amsterdam
This is Holland is a flight experience that takes you across the Netherlands in one hour, showcasing its history and its beauty. The flight simulation is fully interactive, so you feel like you are flying around as you get immersed in the giant domed screen. Some of Hollands most iconic scenery plays out in front and around you as you ‘fly’.
As you travel through Holland your flight adds in extra elements to make you feel like you are really there. When visiting Amsterdam on a short break there may be no time to see the rest of Holland and thats what makes This is Holland such a popular attraction.
At just one hour in length, it is easy to fit in within your time in Amsterdam and get a taste of the rest of the Netherlands. A great way to entertain kids, enjoy on a rainy day or at anytime.

How to get to This is Holland
This is Holland is located across the River IJ from Central Station. It sits nicely between the iconic Eye Film Museum building and A’DAM Lookout Tower.
Both of these attractions are definitely worth visiting during your time in Amsterdam and with This is Holland sandwiched inbetween, it makes this area a very attractive place to go and spend some time.
You can reach This is Holland via the free ferries that sit at the back of Centraal Station. These ferries will run you across to This is Holland in about 4-minutes and give you a lovely free sightseeing view from the river.
Take Line 3 of the ferries with destination Buiksloterweg shown. Ferries leave every 4-5 minutes so don’t panic if you miss the first one. As you arrive on the other side of the River IJ, disembark, turn left and you’ll be at This is Holland in a couple of minutes.
This is Holland Flight Experience
This is Holland is a one hour experience, but you are not on the flight for the entire hour.
The flight experience part lasts 9-minutes. There are three other parts to the This is Holland attraction. These are broken down into two shows about Holland past and present and time to explore in the lounge after your flight.
So, the whole attraction experience lasts approximately one hour.
There is a small ‘coffee corner’ where you can buy coffees/teas and sweet treats like donuts, apple pie and popcorn. They’ll also take pictures of you during the experience which you can buy afterwards – basically like the rollercoaster pictures you see after every ride.
What you will see on the flight
On the flight itself, you’ll fly over the Netherlands, looking at the iconic tulip fields, canals, buildings, cities, windmills and much more. There are added elements where you will feel like you have flown through water, feel the wind in your hair and smell the flowers that all add up to give it that ‘5D’ experience.
The film itself took over two years to make and was created via helipcopter and gained access to lots of protected areas that would not normally allow this type of filming. So, it is a pretty unique film you’ll fly with.
Restrictions: Children under 4 and pregnant women are not permitted on the flight due to the nature of the flight simulation. Additionally, you must be over 100cm tall, not have any history of heart and/or circulatory complaints, be recovering from surgery on back or neck, or have epilepsy. Children between 4-12 must be accompanied by an adult. If in doubt, you should always check before booking to avoid disappointment on the day and to keep yourself safe.
Ticket Combinations
You can buy tickets to this attraction in combination with lots of other attractions. As mentioned earlier, it is included within the I Amsterdam City Card and the Go City Pass, but you can also save yourself a little money by combining tickets with other popular attractions.
One of the most popular combinations is This is Holland combined with a 1-hour canal cruise.
