Motel One Amsterdam – Waterlooplein
Located close to the city centre but even closer to Hortus Botanicus and the Artis Royal Zoo. You can easily walk into the city centre passing Rembrandthuis on your way.
Rooms feature flat-screen TV, desk, private bathroom and safety deposit box. There is a good buffet breakfast, bar, free Wi-Fi, lift and disabled access.
WestCord Art Hotel Amsterdam
If you are happy being a little further out from the city centre, then this hotel offers a really lovely experience. It even has an outdoor pool you can access as a hotel guest. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which means you can be in the city centre in a few minutes and after a day exploring you can retreat to a quieter area of Amsterdam.
If you fancy walking, you can take a lovely stroll through Westerpark and be at Anne Frank House in around 15 minutes.

As locations go this one is perfect should you want to be close to Centraal Station for your arrival or any day trips out on the train. Being so close to Central Station allows you easy access to Amsterdam Noord and the old city centre. It does put you a bit further away from Museumplein though.
